Venusia is a luxury residence on Bayou St. John in New Orleans. Available for long term rental, Venusia is also an ideal venue for weddings and private functions such as film wrap parties, political fundraisers and other private celebrations and photo-shoots.

This stunning residence is particularly remarkable for its unusual comforting yet stimulating ambiance provided by imaginative luminous sculpture and distinctive contemporary lighting. Distributed throughout the residence, luminous artwork along with modern and elegant lighting provide warm and colorful hues that highlight their environments. This palatial residence occupies an exceptionally large, peacefull property on Bayou St. John in a quiet and safe neighborhood that includes private security patrolling at night. Appointed with numerous amenities, Venusia is an extraordinary venue for events or long-term rental. Additionally, Venusia is uniquely associated with two other event rental venues that allow for coordination of events, the Venusian Gardens Art Gallery (VG) and V2nola.

Luminous Artwork and Contemporary Lighting

Venusia features the neon, metal and blown glass artwork and residential lighting of Eric Ehlenberger, emphasizing pieces from his Venusian World Sculpture Collection. The Venusian World sculptures are inter-related series of artwork representing the artist’s rendition of the luminous fauna and flora of his fantasy world of Venusia. Most notable of the luminous sculptures adorning this residence are the blown glass and neon “Venusian Jellyfish” suspended high above in the living area. Visible from the street, the nighttime view of the large grouping of colorful Jellyfish offers an eye-catching and somewhat mysterious welcome to those entering the property.

The Venusian World of Three Event Venues

Venusia is but one component of the “Venusian World” that consists of three event rental venues. In addition to the Venusia, two other rental properties are also available in the nearby historic district of Faubourg Marigny, just 4 blocks from the French Quarter: the Venusian Gardens Art Gallery (VG) and V2nola.

The Venusian Gardens Art Gallery (VG) specializes in contemporary luminous artwork but modern lighting and furniture pieces are also exhibited. VG is also available as a stunning three story event rental venue originally constructed as a church in1852. By blending contemporary art with its historic architectural setting, VG provides a unique and stimulating ambiance for weddings, exotic and memorable parties, celebration of special events as well as music and art performances,

The third venue is V2nola, a creole cottage just three blocks from VG that was originally built in 1842 and now available for rent. Artfully furnished, this property includes a backyard with lawn, covered deck and hot tub. The Faubourg Marigny is home to the best clubs for live New Orleans jazz and R&B music as well as phenomenal restaurants and some of the most interesting art venues the city has to offer. In fact, the Faubourg Marigny and adjacent Bywater community are home to more artists and art studios than any other section of New Orleans, lending a bohemian, creative character to the neighborhood.

These three rental properties can be coordinated to offer unique and distinctive destination weddings and other events.

Venusia – Outdoor Amenities

Backyard on the Bayou
Occupying nearly a full acre, Venusia has a large, 120 foot wide backyard lawn abutting an unusually wide stretch of Bayou St. John backed by the verdant City Park. The bayou provides a natural, peaceful backdrop that offers picturesque sunsets with fish jumping in the waters. On one end of the property there is a large wooden deck extending over the bayou for socializing, relaxing meditation or fishing for bass if one is so inclined. On the other end is a gated access to the bayou for kayaking.

Large Salt Water Pool
Nestled between the two rear wings of the home and adjacent to the lawn is a large 20′ x 40′ heated salt water pool with a cool-deck and two outdoor showers, The pool is accented with colorful underwater LED lighting, two 8’x8′ tanning decks and underwater poolside benches that seat eight people comfortably. Six arcing water jets and two bubbling fountain features can liven up the pool when desired. At the deep end of the pool is a 3 foot decorative wall beautifully adorned with deep blue iridescent tiles, two waterfalls and an 8 foot long linear fire burner that brings the whole area alive at night.

Adjacent to the pool is a covered outdoor kitchen and dining area. The kitchen area includes a large grill with an accessory grill, two sinks, an icemaker and a beverage refrigerator, coffee and tea pod maker and microwave. Two elegant teak dining tables and chairs each seat six people comfortably.

Multi-Car Garage
Venusia provides a spacious private garage allowing for six automobiles and several motorcycles along with four 220V electric car chargers. There is space for additional off-street parking behind locked gates.

Security
The neighborhood is quiet and safe with an extremely low crime rate. Bancroft Drive has private security patrolling the neighborhood at night. The Venusia property is gated and fenced and the residence has exterior cameras around the perimeter. A central security system is also engaged.

Venusia – Indoor Amenities

Shared Living Area

The living area of the Venusia is remarkably spacious, featuring a large sunken living room incorporating a collection of Venusian-themed luminous sculptures including water fountains and two dozen Venusian Jellyfish suspended overhead Adjacent to the living room is a 60 foot wide lanai bound by a wall of floor-to-ceiling glass that looks out to the pool, Japanese style rock gardens and the bayou. More than a dozen exceptionally comfortable leather recliners and swivel chairs in the lanai allow for luxurious and relaxing socializing while enjoying the beautiful view.

Home Theater

Adjacent to the lanai is a large home theater that sports a 12-foot wide movie screen, surround sound and eight reclining leather theater chairs with room for additional seating if required. When not engaged for viewing movies, the theater includes an excellent sound system for enjoying music with floor-to-ceiling glass that provides a view of the bayou.

Expansive, Fully-Appointed Modern Kitchen

The spacious, state-of-the-art kitchen features an abundance of counter space along with a dining table that seats six and a countertop with six bar stools that allow viewing of an 80″ television. Brand new modern appliances include a six-burner gas range with an accessory griddle, a conduction stove top, a convection oven and microwave, 3 sinks, a dishwasher and large individual Sub-Zero freezer and refrigerator along with a separate beverage refrigerator. There is also a large, adjacent pantry making this a dream kitchen for the culinary artist.

Home Gym

The gym provides exercise equipment along with a large screen television for viewing while one exercises. The gym opens by a sliding glass door to a side yard that includes a private deck for post-workout rest.

Steam Sauna with Shower and Hot tub

Directly adjacent to the gym is a private steam sauna with cedar benches, large jacuzzi-style hot tub and multi-jet shower.

Private Chef Quarters

For those guests wishing to have their own private chef to live in and prepare their meals, a private bedroom and bathroom is attached to the kitchen.

Butler Quarters

Butler service is also available for those who wish. A separate butler quarters with outdoor entrance and private bedroom and bathroom is adjacent to the theater.

Sleeping Spaces

In addition to the chef and butler quarters described above, the personal wing of Venusia features an expansive master bedroom and master bathroom with beautiful views of the bayou. There are 5 additional private bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms for our guests convenience.

Master Bedroom and Bath
This spacious sleeping quarters features two king-size beds side by side that look out through floor-to-ceiling glass facing the pool area in one direction and the bayou in another direction. There are two seating areas that occupy each end of the bedroom allowing for comfort and relaxation when not sleeping. A large projection screen that descends from the ceiling provides television entertainment with surround sound when desired. A high quality sound system is also provided with blue tooth access to allow guests to play their own music. Adding to the luxurious ambiance are three overhead crystal chandelier fans.

The contemporary master bathroom features a large glass-enclosed shower with two panel showers as well as an overhead rain shower. A large jacuzzi-style infiinity bathtub offers an invigorating soak for two. The bathroom is appointed with modern twin glass sinks and ample countertop space. Best of all, the master bathroom looks out over the bayou with double glass doors that lead out to a wood deck.
