Hana Series

The Hana (Japanese for “flower”) feature a single multi-colored neon tube emerging from a hand-blown glass body illuminated from within by LEDs. Reminiscent of the Venusian Jellyfish, these flower-like pieces further the theme of the Venusian World Sculpture Collection. A large grouping of Hana are on display suspended along three stories in the stairwell at Venusian Gardens.

The following photos present the Hana in their “On” an “Off” modes to better demonstrate the beauty of the blown glass and provide insight as to the true appearance of the Hana. Photographing neon light is challenging to say the least due to the inconsistencies in exposure and color saturation the camera has to contend with, especially the neon tubes. The photos below are presented for expediency despite their areas of over- or under-exposure and color shifts but they will soon be replaced with color-corrected versions that will more accurately reflect their true appearance.
